Seems Nominet may finally allow one-letter domain names (announcement here). If they do, I can think of only one group that deserves the a.co.uk domain.

They'll allow anyone with a legitimate claim (such as a trademark, business name, band name, etc.) to apply before allowing the public to apply for the unused. If more than one application is put in for a domain Nominet will have to work out a way to decide who gets it (they're currently suggesting a blind lottery, but as they're open to suggestions I've put forward the idea of each party writing why they should get the domain and Nominet has to resolve the dispute).
It's worth at least trying to get the domain. I can't see many others having as good a reason as A to have the domain name.
